| My Introduction to Complimentary Medicine | ||||||||||||||||||
When I was first introduced to complimentary medicine at the age of 31, I suffered from severe cholesterol, hypertension and a neurotic condition weighing 101kg. I embarked on a diet consisting of only raw fruit and vegetables. Everything was taken raw. I lost 29,5kg in three months, totally regaining my health. The hair on my body was shiny and lustrous. My energy levels grew to the point that I was fitter than when I was 16 years of age. When I went to see my General Practitioner who had been my doctor and friend for some years, by blood pressure was normal, cholesterol 100% and the high stress level non-existing. During that time I was in the process of losing a large business and everything I possessed. I was calm and able to take it in my stride and start over again. My doctor was amazed at my recovery. I questioned him as to why he had not suggested a natural approach for my healing. He answered, I quote "Bernie how many patients do you think I would have if I sent them home on a raw vegetable diet? The more medicine I give, the more they respect and support me and consider me to be a good doctor. |

After reading many books and experiencing the good health, I started taking an interest into electronic acupuncture. When I saw the results I was having. I thought that I had stumbIed on the way to cure all diseases. No time was wasted to put my new found "miracle cure" to the test, incorporating pressure point therapy, My first, part time stress relieving practice was set into motion. Needless to Say these treatments were done free of charge and thus drew many a willing patient. The more my patients came the more I learned to understand their bodies and make very accurate diagnosis. |

| By now I had remarkable resuIts. One of my patients suffering from epilepsy was cured within about 6 weeks and a patient who suffered from bareness for 13 years Conceived within 2 months. My one concern was that the treatment was taking too long before achieving the desired results. I needed to find a way of speeding Up the natural process. | ||||||||||||||||||

I realised that the food we eat no longer has the same nourishment. due to pesticides and chemicals used on crops. Then, as I mentioned so many times in my book, I stumbled on Genesis Chapter one verse 29: . . . God gave us the Herbs. I first embarked on a diploma course via the South African College of Herbalism, then an advanced Diploma course via the School of Natural Health Sciences in England. Threafter I did a B.Sc, Master of Science and a Doctor of Science degree at the Trinity Univeristy in London. The above as well as courses in Iridlogy and Aromatheraphy have placed me in the position I am today - a journey that took me more than 20 years. |

| A Holistic Approach as a Foundation |
I am not advocating or making any new claim but only combining things that have been known for many years, which have taken me 2O years to understand and compile My aim is to bring together various therapies and place them in an understandable and logical sequence for a complete healing program.For a holistic approach one needs to consider body, soul and spirit. Strangely, many people are not even aware of the fact that we are triune beings with a body consisting of five doors namely hearing, seeing, smelling, feeling and tasting. The spirit consists of five doors namely memory, affection, reasoning, conscience and imagination. The soul thirdly, which has one door, belief or unbelief. It is commonly known that the spirit types or parallels the natural and this is where the saying ''A sick mind begets a sick body" stems from. |
| Attitiude and Motivation |
Let us start with the spiritual. When people come to the realisation that there is something lacking in their spiritual lives they have a change in attitude by reaching a point where there is a confession and repentance. This changes their spiritual ways and a new life begins. I believe the same applies to restore a body back to good health. Once you have decided that you are ill and something needs to be done about it, a change of attitude and a new lifestyle needs to be adopted. |

In curing disease there are no quick fixes. It is pointless trying to address the symptoms. The ultimate aim is to eliminate the underlying cause of the symptoms. A holistic approach is required. Reflexology, Homeopathy, Herbalism, Nutrition Acupuncture or any other therapies on their own will not achieve the desired results. It is a combination of various therapies and natural medication. |
